The Company have an obligation under both current and forthcoming legislation to ensure that the vehicles operated or used by the Company are operated in safe and legal manner. This obligation exists whether the vehicle is wholly owned, leased or hired by the Company.

In the case of a vehicle owned, leased or hired by an employee, irrespective of being either a full time or part time employee, then the Company must ensure that the vehicle is maintained and operated to the same safety and legal standards as if the vehicle were owned, leased or hired by the Company.

This Company is committed to creating a more responsible corporate environment, which in turn will reduce the risk factor in our everyday vehicles duty of care and management by endeavouring to:-

Develop and commit to a "safety culture".

Insist on sufficient rest breaks for drivers.

Remove work schedule incentives to speed.

Ask for regular health checks, including eyesight.

Carry out regular vehicle checks, including tyres.

Check driver licences and insurance if vehicles are privately owned.

Utilise technology to assist and monitor driver safety and efficiency.

The booklet has been produced to inform Company drivers, of the basic principals of the Company's Vehicles Duty of Care Policy, for the safe use of all vehicles used on company business and must be read in conjunction with his/her contract of employment and the Highway Code. Any points not covered or understood should be raised with Head Office through the drivers Director or VDOC Manager responsible for the Vehicles Duty of Care Policy Document, infringements being dealt with through the Company's disciplinary procedures.
