Codes and Penalty Points
Codes | Special Code | Penalty Points | TT99 | To signify a disqualification under totting-up procedure. If the total of penalty points reaches 12 or more within 3 years, the driver is liable to be disqualified | 12 |
Penalty points for this offence are 12 from: - The date of the last offence The Penalty points remain on the licence for: - Up to (4) Years or more. Example: Date of offence is 10th January 2000 – the endorsement points must stay on the licence until 10th January 2004. “Totting-up” penalty points If you build up 12 or more penalty points within a period of three (3) years, you’ll be liable to be disqualified under the totting up procedure. This is shown on your licence as TT99. Including offences resulting in disqualification or disqualified from holding a full driving licence until a driving test has been passed. Information on your driving entitlement and endorsements are sent to the courts and police on request.
As VDOC Manager you must monitor through your systems the points your drivers are building on their licences. You must advise them of the potential danger to their licence if they reach 12 points and even have their driving methods assessed by professionals. Under no circumstances must you condone any unlawful practices your drivers may use to try to protect themselves from a
